I want to start my own business. How do I find manufactures of chefware, shoes for crews etc.? Kitchen clothing? I live in a highly tourist traveled area. I want to start a business selling kitchen clothing. Chef pants and coats, kitchen shirts, slip proof shoes etc. for restaraunts. How do I find the manufacturers or distributors without getting 5 million results when I do a search?

Lude replied: "The fastest and easiest way is to search using and using precise statements on what your wanting. The next best thing is to call a business that maybe similar to the one your starting and find out which local manufactures they get their materials from."

comfortability skechers or shoes for crews? I am 53 years old and my feet already ache. I am looking for a comfortable shoe to work 9 or more hours in. I'm debating on Skechers or Shoes for Crews. Any advise or recommendations?

Kamster replied: "Skechers actually makes work shoes that are supposed to be comfortable. You can give them a try at 20% off."

Has anyone ever worn Shoes for Crews? I am considering buying some of these. What is your opinion of them? I am a restaurant shift manager and I am on my feet for about 9 hours straight! My feet get very sore very easily. I had shoes that fit great but now i have to get black ones so I am considering trying these. Did the shoes have good support?

freckles48238 replied: "They have great shoes I went to the Restaurant Show that is held in Chicago every year and they were one of the Vendors I tried on some of the shoes and have been buying their shoes every since they are awesome especially if you are on your feet like me."

whstennis04 replied: "yeah, i worked @ pizza hut for a while and almost everyone who worked there ordered shoes from them. I personally liked them better than any work shoe ive ever bought in any shoe store. Theyre pretty durable, theyre comfy, the nonslip soles are lifesavers (no joke when youre around all that grease/oil all day) If you can wear them where you work, they have some that are kind of like crocs. if you like the crocs, youll like them. pretty much the exact thing but with a nonslip sole (i got those and another pair) i had my first pair for 2 years at least and i just got the crocs right before i left ph and neither are worn out yet."

finkksta replied: "I have tried several different styles of shoes for crews. I have not found any to be comfortable. Also they tend to run a little big. I work at a fast food restaurant and am on my feet for 11 or 12 hours/ day. I swear by sketchers work shoe. Also Dr shoal's inserts help when you are on your feet for many hours."

Anthony R replied: "they are AWESOME! back in 2001, I slipped and landed on a kegstand and split my knee open really badly...... after that, the entire staff started wearing them. They are comfortable, some have steel toes so if you drop something heavy, you dont break your toe.... and, its impossible to slip. Get them!!!!!"

sbyldy replied: "comfy, but ugly!"

Is there a product you can adhere to shoes to make them non-skid? I'm a waitress but I hate shoes for crews. I'm looking for a way to make shoes non-skid that where not previously or maybe a site that has fashionable shoes (with height) that are non-skid.

Aisle897 replied: "This makes the bottom of the shoe really ugly but putting a strip of duck tape of the bottom really helps."

gracie55 replied: "You can go to the hardware store and buy some double faced tape. Cut strips long enough to put on the bottom of your shoes.Place them about an inch apart on the soles.Presto, non sid shoes! I used to use this trick with high heels."

courtney :] replied: "duct tape and hairspray work wonders. i'm a dancer, so i have to use character shoes for dancing, but they are the slippery-est shoes ever made. we all put strips of duct tape on the bottom of our character shoes and then spray the duct tape with any old hairspray. let the hairspray dry, and tada! just put the tape on the place where you put the ball of your foot, don't put it on the heel. good luck :]"

Debbie K replied: "Hi Nichelle, It took me a bit to find them, but here they are, and they are life savers.....You can usually find them at most shoe stores too. :-) Good luck, and I hope this helps you out."

Do slip resistant shoes really work? Recently our employer decided that all its employees need to start wearing slip resistant shoes. I realize the intentions are good. However, my previous experience with these shoes haven’t been good. They are uncomfortable and are not that slip resistant. I have fallen twice previously while wearing slip resistant shoes. Does anybody else have bad experiences to share. Please recommend some comfortable slip resistant shoes. (Don’t recommend shoes for crews. They Suck!) If there is an article out there stating that slip resistant shoes don’t help. Pleeeeeeeease send it my way.

Brandon replied: "I know for a fact that they work. I work at a restaurant and the kitchen/dish area is very wet. When I walk into work on my off days I slip all around with regular sneakers. These shoes are worth the money and really work."

princezza replied: "yeah their meant too!"

Sharlene replied: "Hmmm...I reckon some work whereas some are fake. I guess the cheaper they are the more likely they are fake...Erh why don't u try like sneakers? Those are comfy, Maybe try those with broad bases, like skater shoes? Gallaz and the likes of it. That may help. I used to wear them to school all the time."

Need comfortable shoes for work? I am a waiter and i need slip resistant black polishable shoes....i currently use shoes for crews shoes but they are so uncomfortable. I am tall and wear a size 14 shoe and my feet always hurt after work. Does anyone know a website that has shoes that will help me? I am trying to find something that has the feel of Crocs (if you've never worn them they are like wearing pillows for shoes) but the look of polish and slip resistant. Please help.

waterLILY replied: "I heard that Croc shoes were slip resistant, I suggest the Alice croc shoes or the celeste croc shoes! they are easy to keep on and slip resistant! I have the Celeste sheos, they are super comfy and slip resistant! You could totally wear them all during your shift and still be safe. If you go to Zappos.com they have multiple sizes, and im sure you could find your size. "

kate replied: "google Dansko or the walking store...really comfortable...slip resistant...and professional looking...they also have large sizes...a great investment...best of luck"

Kerlin E replied: "buy thoses things that just came out its all over tv i think the box is pink go to cvs"

Are Converse shoes okay for work? I need non-slip shoes for my waitressing job, and I really dont think that the "Shoes For Crews" shoes are attractive whatsoever. Are there any Converse, or Vans slip ons that would do?

Fabio C replied: "I just want to tell you that your feet are very very important, use very conferable shoes, think about a pear of shoes that you have to walk on 8 to 10 hours every day! don't be fashion you are at work and no body look at your shoes (only your manager) buy conferable and easy to clean pair of shoes! Fabio Long long time in the restaurant business! on Cruise line! good luck and don't forget to smile will help you to make some extra $$$$$$$$"

Help! I've recently become a server and need a comfortable pair of non-slip shoes.? The ones I have right now are from Payless and I have blisters under blisters and by the end of my shift my feet are KILLING me! Any suggestions? Are Shoes For Crews comfortable? Must be slip resistant. Thanks a bunch!!

heathermichelle9 replied: "Shoes for crews is definitely the best brand i have ever worn, we had slippery floors all the time @ Chili's and then i got these and i never slipped or blistered."

maudsie57 replied: "I used to work in the restaurant business and found the best ones for me were Reebok Princess. They come in black and give you good arch support and don't slip a lot on the greasy floors. You can usually find them for about $40 at Penney's or Sears."

What is the best, slip resistant, comfortable shoe for food service industry? im a waitress often working double shifts and my feet kill at the end of the day, i have danskos and they are horrible, and i heard shoes for crews is just a waste of money...help! i need something slip resistant and comfy! preferably a black sneaker.

michele replied: "Have you considered Crocs professionals? Though they are not a sneaker per se, they are certainly VERY comfortable and definitely slip resistant. Best of luck, ~M~"

amy s replied: "I've worked as both a waitress and kitchen staff and I love Sketchers sneakers. They have a wide variety to choose from, they have excellent tread, and you can wear them outside of work as well. Sketchers also tend to have good arch support and are durable. I still often wear a pair of them to work that I've had for four years and the tread isn't even worn down yet."
